MeepsKitten’s venture into space was unveiled in a video posted on November 23, 2021. Initially scheduled for December 9, the launch faced a brief delay due to high winds, eventually lifting off successfully on December 11. This marked a significant milestone, making MeepsKitten the first openly furry astronaut, openly pansexual astronaut, and the youngest American astronaut.
Notably, this space odyssey also forged familial bonds in the cosmos, as MeepsKitten shared this celestial experience with his father, Lane Bess. Their joint venture became the inaugural parent-and-child spaceflight, adding an extra layer of significance to this interstellar escapade.
While floating amidst the stars, MeepsKitten revealed a playful touch by having the word “Meowdy” inscribed on the palm of his hand, a whimsical nod to the feline world.
