“Furry Writers’ Guild Celebrates Creative Successes and Community Engagement ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸฆŠ”

As the festive lights of the holiday season begin to twinkle, the Furry Writers’ Guild (FWG) is wrapping up another successful year of creative endeavors and community engagement. The recently concluded Furry Book Month has left many furries with a treasure trove of new reads and a renewed passion for writing.

Celebrating Furry Book Month

Furry Book Month, which took place in October, was a time of celebration for the furry literary community. Despite a minor technical hiccup that delayed the release of the 2024 book bundle, the guild managed to put together an impressive collection of novels. This yearโ€™s bundle included two versions: one suitable for general audiences and another that also featured 18+ content. The bundles were available on Gumroad at a remarkable price of just $1 per book, with an additional $1 going towards the guildโ€™s expenses. This initiative not only supported the guild but also provided readers with a diverse array of furry literature at an unbeatable price.

The First Furry Novel Jam

October also marked the launch of the first Furry Novel Jam, an event inspired by the popular November writing challenges but tailored to the furry community. Participants set their own writing goals for the month, whether it was starting a new project, finishing an ongoing one, or simply writing as many words as possible. The event was a resounding success, with many participants, including the newsletterโ€™s author, making significant progress on their writing projects. For instance, one writer managed to pen over 15,000 words during the month, a testament to the motivation and support provided by the community.

Upcoming Opportunities and Releases

As the year draws to a close, the FWG is already looking ahead to new opportunities. Several anthologies are currently open for submissions, including the Paw Anthology: Volume 2, Spirit of the Wolf, The Second Hayven Celestia Anthology, and others with deadlines ranging from March 2025 to July 2025. These anthologies offer a chance for writers to get their short stories published and reach a broader audience.

In addition, the guild is excited about recent releases from its members. Books like Shadow Sun by Jess E. Owen and Legend of Ahya: Broken Empires by Matthew Colvath have been making waves in the furry literary scene. These releases highlight the talent and creativity within the community and serve as inspiration for aspiring writers.

Awards Season and Guild Updates

With awards season approaching, the FWG is encouraging its members to catch up on their reading lists and submit updates for their guild profiles and suggested reading lists. This is a great time for writers to ensure their recently published works are visible to potential readers and for readers to discover new favorites.

The guild is also seeking members interested in officer positions, with elections scheduled for April. For those who wish to contribute sooner, reaching out to the current officers is a simple step towards getting involved.

As the furry writing community continues to thrive, it’s clear that the support and camaraderie provided by the FWG are invaluable. Whether you’re a seasoned author or just starting your writing journey, there’s always something new to look forward to.

Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with the Furry Novel Jam or your favorite reads from Furry Book Month in the comments below. Let’s keep the conversation going and support each other in our creative endeavors!
